Let Freedom Ring

This is a post about something that’s missing.

Freedom. Justice. The inalienable rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

Private First Class Vanessa Guillen was denied her rights when another soldier harassed her, killed her, and buried her body in a shallow grave.

A middle school teacher denied the rights of an 8th grader in his math class to liberty and the pursuit of happiness by raping her repeatedly during a school year, betraying his trusted position of authority.

An exponential increase in reports of domestic violence and sexual abuse darkened the landscape as a result of increasing violation of women’s and girls’ rights during stay home orders.

These events are all part of the tyranny of “Old Normal.”

In my Amazon #1 New Release, Life Beyond #MeToo, I share a model of transformation that allows us to step out of our circumstances and view time as “Old Normal,” before transformation, where gender and sexual discrimination are accepted, and “New Normal,” after a transformational moment, where people are valued as #equaleverywhere.

Until we address “Old Normal” tyranny, we are not free.

We can pretend. But when half the population faces significantly higher risk of discrimination and violence, there’s no freedom.

We need to take action.

This year for Independence Day, I urge all Americans who claim to care about freedom – life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness – to get a copy of the book Life Beyond #MeToo, and share this post with the people you know who claim to care about liberty.

Thank you!
