Emily Dickinson’s poem I’m Nobody! Who Are You? adeptly captures the dreary reality of the sometimes necessary task of publicity. https://poets.org/poem/im-nobody-who-are-you-260
The point is to not lose yourself in the work of being Somebody, so you can keep doing the work you were made to do when you were Nobody.
There are seasons and reasons to be Nobody, and seasons and reasons to be Somebody. You just need to be clear that before you’re Nobody or Somebody, you’re You. And as the well known poet Dr. Seuss wrote,
“Today you are You. That is truer than true. There is no one alive who is Youer than You.”
Whether you’re Nobody or Somebody, stay true to You.
